Dr. Carol Dahlen is an independent educator consultant offering diversity trainings, cultural competency, virtue/character development, Restorative practices, SEL, and Trauma Informed for schools. She has 20 years of facilitator experience as an independent consultant, and presently holds the position of Clinical Mental Health Counselor/Behavioral Consultant for the Merrillville School Corporation. Dr. Dahlen is an avid volunteer for several organizations, and mentoring initiatives, and served nine years as a Guardian Ad Litem for Minnesota juvenile court. Dr. Dahlen is a member of numerous organizations such as Prison Mindfulness, American Psychological Association (APA), American Mental Health Counselors Assoc., (AMHCA), and American Counseling Association (ACA).Dr. Dahlen was Administrative Coordinator with the Southern Nevada Community Gang Task Force, working to educate the community and parents about gang activity and rescue youth from involvement. She served as a Parent Educator with the Department of Family Services for Clark County, Las Vegas, Nevada.Dr. Dahlen holds a degree in Human Services from the University of Phoenix, and a master's degree for Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Carol is skilled in Social & Emotional Practices. She has certifications in Restorative Practices, Trauma & Loss, and The Virtues Project. A member of Chi Sigma Iota College Honor Society of Walden University, and the Golden Key International Honors Society of California Southern. Dr. Dahlen's research dissertation examined the impact of trauma in school-aged children and classroom behavioral mitigation through compassionate discipline.Ms. Dahlen believes in the oneness of humanity, and the remarkable resolve of the human spirit.Goals:Creating a mental health wellness room in area schools.
