I support managers and educators in higher education institutions across NSW, ACT and Queensland in their use of PebblePad, the learning journey platform. This role brings together multiple facets of my previous experience - leading the early implementation of PebblePad at Charles Sturt, supporting student-centred learning design across multiple disciplines, co-leading multiple large scale online design initiatives, as well as my own personal journey in professional identity formation.

• Responsible for overall strategy for improving the quality of blended and online learning design and practice, development of Faculty’s professional learning spaces, offering professional development in online and blended learning, development of Faculty course review processes, taking a leading role in the scholarly activities of the Project by identifying research opportunities and working collaboratively with the OCI team to research and document blended and online learning in the Faculty of Business.• Led the Faculty’s Interact2 template working party – the template has been used successfully across all subjects within the Faculty, and is now being considered for the whole University. • Leadership of the Faculty’s AIF-funded Faculty Learning Innovation project, including leadership of the Innovation and Course Resource teams (involving almost 40 individual micro-projects). • Initiating and leading the Faculty-wide UImagine-funded project, Building work readiness in the Faculty of Business using online role play, games and simulations. • Achievements include: the development of a holistic Online Design Guide, evaluation tool and systematic recording and reporting to multiple audiences (including students) to support continuous quality improvement in online design; development of a face-to-face and online ‘launch’ to each session of online design and development, fostering improvement to staff capacity in online learning design; development of Faculty knowledgebase wiki and blog, re-development of the Faculty’s 3 stage course review processes, and associated capacity building for Course Directors; major research project investigating deep, widespread and sustained improvements in online learning (so far resulting in two publications – a book chapter and a conference paper).Awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Programs that Enhance Learning, 2014

• Coordinated the Teaching Fellowship program, including professional development workshops for Fellows• Coordinated the Course Team Symposia, including leading a series of workshops for course teams, supported through the development of support resources such as the Designing for BFL wiki, BFL blog, social bookmarking and FLIMedia YouTube Channel• Led the development of the DVD, Exploring Good Practice in Blended and Flexible Learning• Contributed two case studies to the DEHub Project, Building understanding of learning leadership, innovation and institutional change in blended and flexible, open and distance education• Part of the organizing team for CSUED2012, including introducing PechaKucha sessions to this conference, initiating and liaising with DIT to develop the first CSUED mobile app and convening sessions• Awarded the ASCILITE Innovation and Excellence Award, 2012

• Worked in Schools of Communication, Accounting and Computing Science, Agriculture and Wine Sciences, and Dentistry. Responsibilities included course and subject based learning design, development of learning resources, establishing a support framework for academic professional development in pedagogy and technology. Of particular note is the course development work conducted in 2010-2011 which involved a range of strategies to improve the first year experience, including an extended orientation program, student mentoring, common design approaches and resources, an integrated ePortfolio, a quarterly online magazine, and a first year teaching guide. • Leader of the ePortfolio Project (2007-2011), including initiation of the project, conducting a needs analyst and pilot evaluations of the Sakai ePortfolio, working with international consultants (rSmart and PebblePad), coordinating project activities and technical developments (including backend testing and upgrades), developing resources and nurturing a community of practice (including a staff site, student forum and blog), planning, coordinating and conducting professional development activities for both staff and students, and report writing / making recommendations to the OLE Steering Committee. Asked by PebblePad Director, Shane Sutherland, to co-facilitate a presentation on the use of the tool at the ePortfolio conference, 2011 (paid role). • Major contribution to the success Board of Studies proposal for a HSC pathways subject in 2012.• Initiated the CSU PODs (Places of Design) in 2009 as a collaborative professional learning space for staff.• Contributed to working parties and strategy groups, including the CSUDegree Initiative, ACODE benchmarking activities, evaluation and selection of CSU’s LMS• Facilitated professional development for EDs in the pedagogical application of technology.• Member of the ASCILITE 2016 podcasting team.• Awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Performance Excellence, 2009

• Senior instructional designer on an AusAid-funded project to develop the Bachelor of Education (Primary) programme, coordinating the design and development of all courses to be delivered across 12 Pacific countries .• Coordinator of Video Broadcast Courses, responsible for leadership and management of 7 staff, authoring strategic plans, allocation of resources, professional development, community TV, introducing quality standards and day-to-day administration and management.• Advisor on JICA multimedia project.• Led 8-week professional development in online course development for MBA programme.• Conducted staff and student training in WebCT (orientation sessions), writing / editing and instructional design.
