Established the first training and development department within the Syndicate - started from scratch with a great team and new systems, persuaded senior staff and others of the value of staff training and the need to release people for continuing professional development. Designed and implemented a performance review scheme following the decision of the Government in the late 80's that Universities must introduce staff appraisal. Developed and delivered all staff training necessary to underpin the new scheme. Learned a great deal from my Director and mentor, Jean who taught me how to get things done!
