Heading into my third year at Washington State University pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since September of 2023, I have been working as a part-time student Technical Assistant at the Washington State Sports Science Lab, working to inventory, test, and certify bats and balls for the NCAA and additional baseball/softball federations. At the lab I regularly test bats to ensure they meet certification requirements, as well as test balls and partake in baseball/softball related research. Prior to working at the bat lab under Dr. Lloyd Smith and Dr. Nick Smith, I worked as an Orientation Leader for Washington State Orientation during the summer of 2023, welcoming thousands of incoming students to campus and introducing them to the University. I also spent time working as a Learning Assistant for an intro engineering course and worked with first year engineering students, introducing and aiding them through basic material. Prior to moving to Washington, I had 2 years of work experience at Chick-Fil-A as a BOH Shift Leader, BOH Trainer, and a team member. During my time there I was in charge of training, managing, and overseeing a successful cooking process during shifts. I'll be graduating in May, 2026 and I plan to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering in the North-West. I'm excited to pursue a career and position where I can use my skills and expertise to benefit the company as much as possible. In the meantime, I'm looking for internships and part-time jobs to acquire new skills, gain real-world experience, hone my current abilities, and build a solid professional network.
