Women in GIS, Kenya is an initiative that brings together Women in the GIS Field in Kenya to connect, share and learn from each other. The Initiative has 3 pillars: Mentorships, Innovative projects that highlight gender issues, Capacity Building. The Women in GIS , Kenya initiative has so far organized technical sessions in collaboration with policy makers such as the Kenya Space Agency, Africa Media Hub , Kenyatta University and University of Nairobi to address the role of data governance in enhancing access to quality, relevant, accessible, timely data for decision support and community outreach. Apart from that Women in GIS has established an objective mentorship program that hopes to impact 20 students/Young professionals in each cohort. This program is a One-One mentorship platform where needs of the mentees and mentors are matched be it technical or soft. The mentorship program matches experienced Women in GIS to passionate young professionals who interact over 4 weeks in a well structured set up. Women in GIS, Kenya hopes to use data to change the African Woman’s story and is currently running a Data Viz Challenge that will showcase different aspects of the african woman and has scheduled a hackathon whose objective is to look for solutions around Female Genital Mutilation, Gender based Violence and Sexual and Reproductive health.

UN-Habitat is directly in charge of 12 indicators within the SDG framework (8 in SDG 11, 2 in SDG 1, and 1 in SDG 6), and supports work on 7 other SDG 11 indicators.1. Development of methodologies that ensure that ensure effective monitoring and reporting of the new Urban Agenda (NUA) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by National Statistics Officers in UN Member States 2. Country level data generation and capacity building of the National Statistical Officers to collect data in reusable formats3. Disaggregation of resulting data across thematic areas such as gender, age, persons living with disability. 4. Reporting and Presentation for policy influence, Implementation and development .5. Designed, implemented and managed different web GIS platforms for near-real-time monitoring of different metrics and projects. The portals were used by the project manager, or, other users to monitor the different parameters and to assist in decision making.

The USAID HIGDA (Health Informatics, Governance and Data Analytics) Project is a USAID funded project that focuses on improving health care service delivery at the National and County Level in Kenya. 1. Support the real time spatial data collection and updating of all existing and new public health facilities offering treatment and care services for HIV/AIDS, Reproductive Health, Maternal and Child Health and Malaria. 2. Create User interfaces, dashboards and other data visualizations products for increased access of stakeholder data for evidence-based decision making. 3. Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for stakeholders

Create and Promote GIS Solutions for the Conservation Organisations in Eastern Africa. I work with the Conservation Organisations and Educational institutions in the Eastern Africa Region to increase GIS knowledge through hands-on trainings, Seminars,workshops or Project Management/ Consultancy.

My role as Director for Outgoing Exchange (OGX) in AIESEC Kenyatta University was:1. Seek and Create appropriate country partnerships2. Review and customize the opportunities fro Kenyatta university students3. Create an AIESEC branded outgoing exchange campaign to recruit suitable candidates for the opportunities available.4.
