Caroline holds clinical licensure as a social worker in Missouri, Illinois and Colorado. Caroline has more than 15 years of clinical experience and a long history of personally lived experiences, uniquely positioning her to help others. She has obtained additional post-graduate training in the assessment, treatment, and medical management of eating disorder populations, and in the assessment and treatment of trauma-related disorders. She is also a Certified Body Trust Provider through the Center for Body Trust.She is skilled in crisis intervention, behavioral and psychodynamic approaches and evidence-based practices for the treatment of complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and eating disorders. Caroline utilizes person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches in practice. Her clinical practices include structured integrative techniques using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Body Trust, Existential, Health at Every Size Approach, and Psychodynamic Treatment methods.Caroline is experienced at working with clients receiving different levels of care including telehealth, outpatient, in-home, and in residential treatment settings.She has additional experience with mental health and substance abuse utilization review at the facility based level and has taken the initiative to create permanently positioned eating disorder webinar trainings for Care Advocates for Optum. She is actively seeking to network with others who would like to expand understanding about eating disorders and access to care through the utilization review process.She completed a research-oriented foundation practicum in the Department of Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis under Associate Professor and Psychotherapist, Dr. Rebecca Lester where she assisted with research and writing on her book, “Famished: Eating Disorders and Failed Care in America.” Her concentration practicum was at the Schiele Clinic at St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute where she conducted individual therapy with clients struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, disordered eating, and personality disorders. Caroline is passionately involved in policy-making, research, education, outreach, and fundraising, and holds professional memberships with a number of international, national, and community organizations. She is also engaged in freelance writing, professional blogging, and academic writing.
