Head Of Communications & Media | Community & Social Impact
I was proud to lead Zurich's internal and external communications function and it’s reputation management, including by championing a fabulous team who chaperoned the business through COVID-19, two CEOs (one great, one awful) and two major acquisitions for Zurich (OnePath Life and Macquarie Life). I set up a best practice function encompassing media relations, PR, employee engagement and corporate social responsibility. I also directed our community, social impact and environmental effects. I established Tackle Your Feelings; created and chaired our MindFIT mental health program, guided our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), mentored emerging female leaders via our Women's Innovation Network, and was a proud LGBTIQ+ ally. My achievements at Zurich include: - Led COVID-19 communications response from 2019 - 2021, transitioning 95% of workforce in and out of work-from-home; media, financial adviser and customer relations.- Led the communications function for two acquisitions: OnePath Life from ANZ (2017 - 2021), and Macquarie Life (2016 - 2017), the fastest transition of a life company in Australia, delivered on time and in budget. These extensive multi-channel programs communicated to Zurich and Macquarie / ANZ employees, financial advisers, customers and the media. - Created Tackle Your Feelings, a mental health training program for community AFL clubs, with ambitions to reach 10,000+ coaches. Managed the grant application process, resulting in the largest local grant awarded, and oversaw the program’s inception including partner negotiations, brand and curriculum development. - Conceptualised MindFIT program and employee resource group (ERG), which educates and advocates for mental wellbeing in the workplace and for customers; and involves managing relationships with a network of industry and community partners.- Managed Zurich’s Australian social media presence primarily across LinkedIn, building follow-ship from 5,000 to more than 20,000.
