From corporate to fieldwork to advocate to teacher: I keep it real. Real conversations, real change, real people, real life. It is my priority to bring authenticity to everything I do & to lift up those around me by doing so.I was born and raised by a strong single mom in rural West Virginia. I have firsthand experience of the educational & economic roadblocks that Appalachian women face on their journey to economic independence. After college, I worked in nontraditional careers ranging from poultry processing, landscaping, environmental consulting, and as a manager at a natural gas company. In these roles, I had the opportunity to work on various land development and construction projects. After a 16-year career as an environmental scientist, I stepped forward to serve as the Executive Director of WVWW in 2021. My passion lies in advancing the education, economic self-sufficiency, and success of women. As a seasoned professional in workforce development and women's advocacy, I am honored to be part of the dynamic WV Women Work team. Committed to these goals, I collaborate closely with my dedicated students, a creative team, and a national network of inspiring women. Together, we're making real strides in empowering women by providing them with meaningful education and career opportunities. Our collective efforts are focused on crafting a future where every woman is equipped with the necessary tools and confidence to excel. We keep it real, support one another, and work towards a world where every woman's potential can be fully realized.
