It's my job to make donors do a double-take. I create visually appealing and compelling case-for-support and stewardship documents, thank-you letters, invitations and other correspondence for major gift donors. In addition, I conduct regular donor and prospect research, update and coordinate donor files in the database (Blackbaud Donor Perfect/ResearchPoint, Clearview CRM and Salesforce), compile donor reports and monthly gift tracking for major donor relations directors.I don't take grants for granted either. I also provide support for the Corporate & Foundation Relations Director, collaboratively writing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, reports and thank-you letter correspondence and entering requests and other legal documentation into the contract database. I research and analyze upcoming grant and funding opportunities for any and all Salvation Army locations across our 28-county Western Pennsylvania Division, pursuing funds for Comprehensive Social Services, Emergency Disaster Services, the Family Caring Center, feeding programs and youth programs. I help donors - individual, corporate and foundation - connect with the causes they care about most.

After nearly 9 years as a hotel housekeeper, I took on the additional responsibility of supervising a team of 12 housekeepers 1-3 days per week, inspecting guest rooms to ensure a consistent standard of cleanliness and quality was met.

Working with the Development Coordinator, I assisted with grant research and LOI writing to raise funds for Animal Friends' low-cost spay & neuter and low-cost vaccine clinics. I also wrote donor correspondence letters, assisted with mailings, and entered gift and annual gala registration information into the Raiser's Edge and Greater Giving donor databases.

I write articles depicting cultural and conservation issues within the Western PA suburbs. Allegheny West Magazine is a bi-monthly, community-interest publication with editions covering 3 school districts, Moon, Montour, and West Allegheny.

During my internship with Tree Pittsburgh, I conducted interviews and gathered input from city officials, volunteers, and local organizations in order to write content for the 2014 Pittsburgh Urban Forestry Review. I also wrote and posted content for Tree Pittsburgh's website and social media accounts, and created content and layout for monthly e-newsletter using Constant Contact software. I researched opportunities to further publish, promote and raise awareness about a recent children's book project. I help with activities including raffle ticket sales, packaging of prizes, and disassembling/clean-up of grounds during the annual Arbor Aid benefit fundraiser held at the new Tree Pittsburgh Heritage Nursery in Lawrenceville.
