Learner-centric instructional designer, trainer, and published author with over 20 years of experience in learning and development. Extensive background in human resources, employee development, instructional design, needs analysis, and assessment creation. Proficient at generating new content, or improving upon existing materials. Well-versed with the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) model, Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation, and the Angoff Method for test item validation. Earned a Master's Degree in Management, qualification as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) practitioner, and certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Langevin Learning Services.Carolyn is also a multifarious musician who started her music studies early in life, playing piano at age three. By the time she reached High School, she had added clarinet, saxophone, and flute to her list of favorite instruments, and was very active in the music program (Marching Band, Jazz Band, Madrigal Choir, and various small ensembles). She also dabbled in composing, arranging, and began teaching private lessons. Carolyn won numerous awards at Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) festivals, played twice in the All-State Honor Band, and was awarded a music scholarship from the Burbank Women’s Chorus Club. Currently, she plays in the CommUniversity Band at SDSU and the Brookings Area Community Band.
