Mr. Carr has more than 40 years of experience in the planning, design, and construction of ports and marine terminals and other types of coastal and waterfront development projects. He is a recognized expert in coastal engineering and has served as global director of coastal engineering for several international engineering firms. Areas of expertise include hydraulic and coastal numerical modeling, coastal data acquisition, breakwaters and other coastal structures, shore protection and coastal flood protection, port and waterfront structures and facilities, dredging and land reclamation works, intake and outfall systems, navigation channels, submarine pipelines and small craft harbors. He has extensive experience with planning and design of container terminals, LNG terminals, onshore and offshore oil terminals, and dry bulk terminals and is frequently involved with due diligence, peer review and value engineering assessments of major marine infrastructure projects.Chris has served as project manager or design manager on more than $7 billion of port expansion and green field port development projects including Khalifa Port, Abu Dhabi (detailed design for contractor); Jebel Ali New Container Terminal (JANCT), Dubai (studies and detailed design); Dawei Port, Myanmar (planning and detailed design for contractor); Corozal Port, Panama (planning, financial feasibility analysis and FEED); Haifa Port, Israel (detailed design of breakwaters and wharf structures); and Dikastri Port, Russia (detailed design of breakwater and pier); Ocean Cay LNG Terminal, The Bahamas (environmental assessments and detailed design of pier and shore protection works); and Port of Salalah, Oman (coastal engineering and detailed design of quay walls and other port facilities).
