I believe in the design and implementation of an interdepartmental approach for managing legal affairs and regulatory requirements. I have examined carefully how regulatory and legal requirements impact day to day business. From this examination I determined that if business understands the legal and regulatory environment and its opportunities within that environment they will embrace compliance and become part of the ongoing process for regulatory evaluation and further implementation. In other words, every requirement impacts in fundamental ways how business is done and at what cost. Because of this, it is critical to identify methods and process that will empower business unit owners to become part of the compliance process, to get comfortable with how and why requirements are generated so that they are always on the leading edge of compliance integrity and the business success that brings. I continue to focus on implementing communication strategies and working closely with all business units to gather information pertinent to the regulatory analysis. With that communication and coordination I design and implement a holistic solution to regulatory and legal requirements that facilitate rather than frustrate the day-to-day business activity and long term business goals. Because I believe that the success of all business objectives begins with the success of the individual employees within an organization, a further critical facet of my management approach to expect and encourage my employees to set active goals and personal/business development plans.
