While I am an individual with a healthy variety of interests and passions, the thread that connects them all is an unshakeable commitment to the creation of vibrant, healthy, creative, humanizing systems. Over the years, those systems have included economic, ecological, neighborhood, school, criminal justice and family systems. My interest started very broad with a passion for social justice on the global level and has gotten progressively more focused as I have come to understand how my own skills might be best utilized in this effort. Though my current pursuit is couple and family therapy, my work will forever be influenced by a strong passion for social justice. On December 4, 2014, I graduated from the Marriage and Family Therapy program at St. Mary's where I completed my practicum as a family therapy intern with Amicus and through the private practice of Ken Stewart, Ph,D., LP, LMFT.

Sft TherapistFamily, Adolescent And Children Therapy Services Jan 2015 - PresentHennepin CountyI provide intensive, in-home, family therapy to clients in Hennepin County. We meet with our families 2-3 times per week. The theoretical framework the SFT program uses is modeled after MST and our work includes close collaboration with all of the systems in the lives of our families. While MST relies heavily on Structural and Strategic interventions, I myself am influenced greatly as a therapist by EFT and approaches that focus on repairing the attachment relationship. Trauma treatment is a focus of mine and I am trained in TF-CBT and rely heavily on the work of Eugene Gendlin (Focusing) and Bessel Van der Kolk. I provide therapy in both English and Spanish.

Amicus Radius CounselorVolunteers Of America Of Minnesota Jun 2010 - Jan 2015Twin CitiesAmicus Radius is a nationally known program working with girls ages 12-18 who have become involved in the juvenile justice system. Because we know that the needs of system-involved girls are different than boys, we are a gender-responsive, relationship-based, restorative justice program that is trauma informed and girl-centered. We aim to help girls restore family, peer and community connections, and engage the girls as active architects of their own success. In my capacity as an Amicus Radius Counselor, I co-facilitate a weekly psycho-educational group and meet with the girls weekly for 14 weeks for individual counseling. I also facilitate support circles with girls and their families and provide resources and referrals as necessary. -
