I lead the development of the Fisheries Acoustic Archives at NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information. These archives encompass the water column sonar data archive and the more recently developed passive acoustic archive. This work supports partners within NOAA - Fisheries, National Ocean Service, and Oceanic and Atmospheric Research - and outside of NOAA - U.S. Navy, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, National Park Service, Rolling Deck to Repository, and academia.Prior to working at the University of Colorado Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences / NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information, I studied fish sound production using passive acoustic recording instruments from archival recorders and autonomous underwater vehicles.
