Below are some specific projects during this time.Nano Home LoansLead UX Designer (Contract) – Aug 21 – Present• Conducting user interviews, usability testing, data analysis, user flows, journey mapping, design workshops and wireframing to document user insights and recommendations for the Nano home loan products.Lexicon Digital - Head of Design (Contract) – Mar - May 2021• Bought on board to help Lexicon shape their UX design offering, and supporting with recruiting new UX hires. Toptal/MIT - Design Lead (Contract) - Sept 2020 – Feb 21• Toptal claims to hire the top 3% of designers in the world with a rigorous onboarding process. My first consulting role was with MIT in the US working remotely on a map data visualization project, in conjunction with the South Australian government.

- My role was focused on creating the vision and design direction for a soon-to-be launched portal & mobile app.- Working with a small, Agile team to design and build a new Real Estate portal aimed at helping new home buyers through the end-to-end home buying journey. - Collaborating with team members to define, conceptualise, design, test, iterate and build new user experiences, I work closely with team stakeholders to deliver user experience excellence.

- My role was adaptable, changing with each consulting engagement, predominantly with large corporations. I was generally engaged to manage and lead design teams within a lean UX framework, ensuring that team members are working collaboratively, efficiently, and effectively to deliver the best outcomes for the client. - Worked with the design teams to refine UX design skills and techniques, as well as mentoring team members as required. - Closely involved in working with the wider UX community within Deloitte, to find ways of ensuring that everyone is across the latest methodologies, and that learnings are shared amongst the teams. - Managed the UX recruitment of all new UX designers across the organization.

- Working closely with product managers, business stakeholders and IT development teams to design and shape the functionality and usability of a suite of B2B data visualisation products, targeting the Finance sector. - I collaborated to design and implement an internal UX strategy and governance across multiple business areas and presented this as the approach to key business stake holders. - As the only UX specialist within the organization, it was my role to drive, design and lead the UX direction. - Often called upon to consult with different stakeholders throughout the business on the best UCD approach for other projects.- My main project was the design of a complex data visualization tool that provides visual organizational structures using third party data, such as ASIC. This platform delivered products & services to the financial sector to create efficiencies in understanding and investigating complex company structures, primarily for business lending scenarios. - Working within an Agile development team, I managed all design outcomes for a team of nearly 30 developers.

- Working as a UX specialist, my key role was to engage with business stake holders to scope out business requirements, define user journeys, process flows and functionality for delivering initiatives within a complex service environment used by NBN wholesale telco service providers. - I facilitated gathering end user feedback through workshop deliverables, survey data, and mapping qualitative and quantitative data to engage a user centered design approach for our solutions. - Working within an Agile environment, I was constantly striving to improve our internal processes to create efficiencies wherever possible. Part of my design outcomes included detailed wireframes incorporating front-end functional specifications and complex form validation.Throughout a project life cycle, I engage in the stake holder management process through ongoing communications to ensure business alignment is acheived at every milestone. We work within an Agile environment and I am constantly striving to improve our internal processes to create efficiencies where ever possible. Part of my documentation deliverables include detailed wireframes incoroporating front-end functional specifications and complex form validation.

I was engaged at Optus as a senior User Experience Architect for two years on a complex web application project for Optus Business. I worked to develop high level strategic architecture design as well as documenting detailed user interface prototypes and specifications. Gravitymax was a professional services company set up with my partner in 2000. We specialised in providing strategic online services to small and medium sized businesses. We provided web services to a number of new smaller clients, as well as servicing larger clients engagements. Clients included WestLink M7, Bartercard International, Fox Studios Australia, Capital Insight, Select Funds Management, Barwon Investment Partners, and Powercom Systems. We employed and managed a team of 25 at one point, combining web developers and web designers.User Experience & Information Architecture Consulting ProjectsI also provided Usability and Web Strategy consulting, providing Information Architecture services to Fujitsu Australia, Bartercard International, Kennards Hire, and Prior Education. The scope of these projects included providing expert reviews and recommendations, user testing, site maps & wireframes, workflow diagrams, web design, and strategic recommendations.
