Chief Operating OfficerThe first employee, and for many years singlehandedly ran the finance and operations as the organization grew from a single petition to a complicated group of issue advocacy political orgs, and a membership of five million people, with an annual budget that fluctuated in election years to tens of millions given in very small dollar contributions. Was directly responsible for all systems needed for finance, budget, legal compliance, personnel, benefits, trademark, insurance, 'big ears' to listen to member feedback and suggestions, and much more. A taste of my many accomplishments over the 16+ years:• Ran the virtual organizations operations, with no brick and mortar locations, working with associated firms, contractors, and employees located in many states. • Helped develop and refine early small dollar online donation systems, including systems for extremely accurate recording and reporting. • Worked with over 130 congressional and senate campaigns since 2000, disbursing over 30 million dollars in earmarked small dollar contributions from MoveOn members. Worked with many other progressive organizations, helping their mission wherever I could. • Responsible for all federal and state compliance, including election donation reporting and state charitable registrations. • Responsible for fiscal management, including clean annual audits each year, cash disbursement, banking relationships, payroll (including state compliance), and employee benefits development and administration. • Oversaw all contracts. • Managed corporate and benefits insurance relationships. • Developed corporate policies, including conflict of interest, personnel, resources, gift acceptance, and non-disclosure agreements.

Director of Internal OperationsManaged the infrastructure operations, including IT and other critical functions for a dynamic software and early on-line entertainment company of 150 employees and contractors. Supervised 10 FTE and contractors. • Oversaw UNIX/Web administration (intranet/internet), Novell Network administration and end user support, developed an employee helpdesk.• Developed and maintained relationship with internet service providers, including placement of seven external web servers for online projects.• Advised department heads on hardware/software decisions and assisted with individual department’s capital budgeting.• Developed and administered equipment and software libraries• Developed and administered annual operating and capital budgets.• Negotiated all equipment/software vendor purchases and contracts.• Managed total of 35,000 sq./ft facilities including contracts, security, building security, disaster planning, shipping, reception, on and off-site equipment and corporate records storage.
