I am a professional software developer with a strong interest in software architecture and software quality. I have multiple years of experience working in software projects of various fields and sizes. During that time I have learned that a software product is confronted with a wide range of challenges and difficulties over its lifespan. In order for it to survive and flourish in modern environments we have to set and maintain high standards for quality which must not fall short during the "heat of battle".Therefore I try to actively push the concepts of "Extreme-Programming" such as pair programming, test driven development and continuous integration when developing software in a team. I find that good software needs innovative ideas as well as the courage to implement those, but a software developer can only be as courageous as his or her safety net of unit-, integration- and acceptance tests is solid. Therefore weaving this net has an extraordinary high value during my daily work.I love to share my knowledge with others and therefore I find myself falling back into my habit of acting as a "Ben Kenobi"-like mentor from time to time.I consider myself to be more of a conversational team-oriented type than not. In my opinion it is important to discuss impactful architectural decisions with colleagues , since someone quickly turns blind to their own idea's flaws and weaknesses if left alone for too long. Regarding this, I have no hesitations asking difficult or even unpleasant questions about processes, technologies or management-decisions, even if this forces us to start from square one again.
