I was in charge of fundraising for a watershed wide clean-up event titled Creek Week. I also worked on organizing the annual Greenway Fund Forum event. I attended many community gatherings ranging from neighborhood committee meetings to city council meetings. Through my experience with The Greenway Fund I was able to build a toolkit to effectively build a holistic view of systems that involve the environment and private and public actors.

An important aspect of my position was ensuring the safety of the volunteers in sometimes dangerous areas. RMFI has a goal of instilling a sense of stewardship of the land with all volunteers, so I worked to incorporate lessons of stewardship into volunteer events. Leading volunteer groups helped to hone my ability to manage large numbers of people and to effectively get a message across to a group.
