I have always loved to learn. In grade school I enjoyed being the first to raise my hand and having the confidence to be ready for every test. In high school I had excellent teachers that introduced me to the fields of biology and chemistry in a way that sparked my passion for the subjects. To continue my journey of learning, I moved from my hometown in Montana to Seattle in order to attend the University of Washington. At UW I have met so many peers and mentors that have inspired me to always work hard and to pursue a career in research. As an undergraduate student in the Department of Biochemistry, I conducted protein structural biology research with the Klevit Lab.I have recently graduated from the UW with a B.S. in Biochemistry. I now work as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Protein Design.
