I am the founder and CEO of Gowrie Group, which I started in 1974 as a boutique boat and yacht insurance specialty agency. Over the past 40 plus years, Gowrie Group has greatly expanded its offerings and now provides a broad range of insurance solutions to clients in all 50 states, including commercial, home/auto, equine, marine, yacht club, and yacht insurance, as well as employee benefits solutions and safety services. As a lifelong sailor and racer, I have been active in the marine and sailing community my whole life. I have served on the board of several sailing and community organizations, including the Essex Yacht Club, the Eastern Connecticut Sailing Association, the Interclub Dinghy Class Association, and the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center.
