Prior to this, I assisted Professor Zuckermann with his research work with the Barngarla Language Reclamation Project. This Project is aiming to revive the language of the Indigenous Barngarla people of the Eyre Peninsula through interaction with a dictionary written in 1844 by Clamor Wilhelm Schürmann, one of the first Lutheran missionaries to South Australia, some audio recordings in 1960s by Dr Luise Hercus and a dedicated team of Barngarla people.
