I offer years of accounting/finance experience, including staff accountant, Finance Manager, Government Contract Manager and Senior Accountant. I started as General Accountant handling ad hoc projects and was promoted a short time later to Staff Accountant performing account reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, journal entries, month-end duties and leading the new electronic purchase order system rollout. Additionally, I assisted with audits. The leadership team chose me as the finance lead for all accounting responsibilities of a large US Military contract, which is where I spent the majority of my Weber Shandwick tour and gained the most growth. This was fast-paced with multiple high-priority, competing deadlines and constant change. As it grew, I was promoted to Government Contract Accountant creating and managing processes from statement of work through negotiations and expense controls. I performed revenue and expense analysis, project reconciliations and assisted in budget preparation. As a senior accountant with IDI Distributors I have added credit card bank/credit card fee reconciliations, managing rent payments (50+ locations) deferred rent and preparing financial packages to my experience as well as analysis at a corporate level which all have broadened my skill set.Finance is clearly a numbers game, but I feel communication skills are incredibly important as well. There were over 100 PR staff serving the US military account nationally. I had to efficiently communicate policies with this large of a group, field questions daily and hold yearly training sessions to make sure we were consistently compliant. My ability to work cooperatively with diverse personalities allowed me to build trusting relationships with staff, sister agencies and clients and helped me effectively supervise employees and this large account. In an ever changing environment, I had to continuously monitor all policies to make sure they were in line with the current needs of the client and if not, had to make adjustments.Professionalism and strong work ethic are things I value greatly.
