Growing up my dad taught me to learn many skills so that I could do anything that was put in front of me. I took that to heart and am pretty proud of the fact that I can learn and excel in anything I'm asked to do. My dad was skilled with his hands and could build or fix anything. That is where my interest in art and building came from.My first professional job after college was at a bank and I literally thought I was going to fail. I remember feeling like I wouldn't ever be able to figure it out and almost quit, but I made the decision in the end that failing was not an option. During my career at the bank I went from not knowing anything about banking to doing loans and being at a branch with a manager housed 45 minutes away. The leadership and customer service skills will always be deeply ingrained in me.My current position is just another example of how I take what is given to me and run. I'm working at the current moment as a Deputy Clerk in Juvenile Court at the George Jaynes Justice Center in Jonesborough. I started out as a part time file clerk then within a year moved to collections and then Juvenile Court. In that 2nd year I was asked to move to Criminal Court, which was always my dream. I knew nothing about my job when I first started, but ended up mastering and gaining the complete trust of the Judge I was under.
