I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at UNR. My research focused on developing and categorizing high-specific surface area sorbents for application in nuclear waste reprocessing. Through this research, my group and I collaborated with the Pacific Northwest National Lab, Idaho National Lab, and the University of Utah under DOE funding.I have expertise in the following characterization techniques: XPS, XRD, FTIR, Raman, TGA/DSC, Pycnometry, SEM/EDS, and QCM, along with skills in technical writing, management, and leadership.

I went to several entrepreneurship trainings after receiving grants to bring our product to market. Strong research professional with a Metallurgical Engineering focused in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Utah College of Mines and Earth Science. Developed a company (Solapur LLC) with the University of Utah is developing a portable, point-of-use, solar-powered water purification device to provide clean water in rural areas or wherever access to clean water is limited. The technology utilizes the sun to oxidize bacteria, viruses and protozoa in surface water and can use low voltage electricity from lightweight, durable solar panels when lighting conditions are less than ideal.
