I am a leader, educator, and youth mental health advocate with 15+ years of working with children and young people in various settings ranging from the public school classroom to overnight summer camp. I have assumed numerous leadership and supervisory positions over the years, including head counselor for the summer camp, and I was part of a collaborative team of elementary teachers developing curricula for a diverse population of learners. My passion lies in guiding others to achieve their goals. I believe in sparking growth and positivity through the power of intentional community. It is my life goal to help those around me shine brighter.My passion for helping others began at the summer camp setting with Independent Lake Camp in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania and expanded during my time as a paraeducator, graduate intern, and classroom teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) in Montgomery County, Maryland. During my time with MCPS, I earned an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction through the CITE (Creative Initiatives in Teacher Education) Program, a higher education partnership program between the University of Maryland at College Park and MCPS. I left my position with MCPS at the end of the 2019 school year in order to advance myself professionally. Finding youth mental health and well-being to be a priority, I sought a program that would equip me with the knowledge and skills to make systemic change. In 2021, I earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing through Edge Hill University in the UK. In the midst of the pandemic, I sought a career change that would allow me to employ my skillset in a different environment. This led me to employment with Whole Foods Market in Boulder, Colorado.I started with WFM as a full-time Cashier and worked my way up by becoming the Store Support Team Trainer, then a Supervisor, and now my current role as Store Support Associate Team Leader (ATL). I earned the role of ATL while completing the Career Development program for team members interested in becoming ATLs. I am a purpose-driven leader, and I seek growth opportunities so I can further support my team members and the customers I serve.
