In this role at a far better established and organized store, my duties were more typical of a service manager. Leading shifts of 4-8 people, customer relations, corporate relations and reporting, new crew member and manager training, and real time sales/cost analysis. These duties allowed me to further develop as a leader and a professional. I was also give sole responsibility of the semi annual facilities audit which requires thorough cleaning and repair of all equipment, storage, and any other physical assets on site. This procedure required a 4 hour, 10 person coordination after closing and before opening the next day. After leaving at 3:30 AM, I was back at 6 AM to meet the auditor, not because I had to but because I wanted to know how the team did. The team received a near perfect score of 98/100.

In this role, my focus was collaborating with a team to set and achieve throughput goals based on real time analysis while adjusting labor as well as maintaining guest satisfaction. After less than a week in my new position, our general manager left abruptly, leaving a team of 3 (including me) to share their responsibilities like schedule making, sales/labor analysis, inventory orders, and cash handling. This also gave me the opportunity to lead the store through the quarterly surprised health audit that examines food handling, storage, overall cleanliness (compliant with rigorous 3rd party standards), typically the job of the general manager. In this audit, the team was able to receive a score of 97/100, far exceeding the minimum passing score.
