As the Senior Fiction Editor I managed an editorial team to ensure that we met our weekly publishing schedule as well as set up a schedule for our quarterly releases. I was in constant contact with authors, agents, and publishing houses as well as managed translators working everywhere from the Middle East to Africa to America. In addition, I was in charge of soliciting manuscripts from authors and translators and building relationships with them. In the past we have featured Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie as guest editor, translations by Margaret Jull Costa, and writing by Sébastien Doubinsky.

I worked alongside David Leavitt and Mark Mitchell with a team of three other assistants to evaluate and select stories from the nearly five hundred submissions that we received in the span of two months.

I was responsible for the initial transition of UF’s Center for European Studies webpage to the new UF CMS as well as any future maintenance and updates. I worked with HTML, CSS and JavaScript to tailor the website to CES’s specifications. As a liaison between the CES department and the University of Florida I was responsible for maintaining UF’s best practices while delivering a dynamic website that will attract future students and scholars to the Center for European Studies.
