I am driven by two different subject areas, both of which I have studied (and currently do). The first is Music. I am in a reggae band, where we have created some truly awesome original music. Showcasing this music at events throughout the region - and seeing how people positively react to something you have been a part of creating - is very rewarding. On top of this, being part of the band is continuously expanding my musical knowledge, even after school.Simultaneously, I am motivated and inspired by technology. It is the backbone on which the modern business survives in order to operate even its most basic functions, and has limitless possibilities beyond this. I was first drawn to higher technology when studying music at TU, where I found the recording department. Not long after, I declared a minor in Electronic Media where I took every class dealing with every aspect of audio production possible. Now, I am back at TU for a Master's in Applied Information Technology. In this new focus, I feel drawn towards Information Security, and have declared this as my main pathway of study within the major. I should be able to obtain the Graduate Certificate in Information Security and Assurance by May, and by December 2015, graduate with a Master's degree! It is my hope and aspiration to find an area of work within IT to give me a good grounding in the field while I am still studying it, so that by graduation I will have some experience to rely on.
