I completed my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at Pennsylvania State University in December 2022 with a program of research focused on understanding the effect of maltreatment on academic functioning through malleable developmental mechanisms such as engagement. In addition to my graduate training in Educational Psychology, I was also awarded a two-year, NIH-funded, T32 training fellowship in child maltreatment science. During my time in the T32 fellowship, I was trained to examine the complex problem of child maltreatment from the developmental, policy, intervention and prevention, and biobehavioral health perspectives. Currently, as a Post-Doctoral Associate for the IDEAS Consortium out of the University of Miami, I work with community-based organizations representing diverse communities in Miami, FL to build their capacity for using data to make policy and practice decisions for their community and provide technical assistance with exploring available data about their communities and evaluating existing programs.
