Support Specialist
Current- work in person with clients ages 16+ who struggle in any functional areas of life- we provide professional support to clients with mental disabilities with the goal of guiding them towrads independent living. - appointments with clients are mostly one-on-one, in person, at the clients' homes, or in the community. Activities included in the appointments are structured to target specific areas in which the client needs assistance and guidance. Some examples of these areas are physical health, nutrition, social skills, personal hygiene, home maintenance, finances, time management, work skills, job shadowing, job coaching, and correcting maladaptive behaviors. - A typical day with clients includes driving around South County to different locations to meet with one client at a time - unless clients are working together in a group setting. During appointments staff has to take notes on significant events and concerns for each client to submit to supervisors at end of day.
