• Develop and implement department communications strategy• Coordinate communications activities and events, such as social media content, website content, newsletters, press releases, etc.• Promote department programs, services, activities, and events to enhance public awareness and positive community perception• Plan, execute, and analyze generalized and specific high-visibility public information and education campaigns that use evidence-based strategies to share ongoing and emergent public health messages to priority populations• Design marketing and campaign materials such as flyers, posters, and fact sheets; infographics; brochures; print, radio, and digital advertisements; bus benches and bus wraps; billboards, etc.• Participate in the preparation of surveys, reports, and analyses• Manage department website and social media pages

• Proofread and copy edit daily news stories for structure, grammar, punctuation, and AP Style• Design strong, compelling, clean daily print newspaper pages and special weekly sections on a strict deadline that follow design standards and best practices• Write engaging, accurate, and relevant headlines and other display type for daily news stories in print and online• Predict and prepare for daily and long-term media trends• Use sound news judgment to select regional, state, and national wire news stories for the daily print newspaper and website• Manage copyflow to website and social media
