Casey was apart of a group of four other students that were tasked with improving productivity by 20% in one area of the plant that had seen increased volumes and had resulted in Schneider adding labor to meet demand. Over the course of the semester, Casey and the team methodologically went through the DMAIC process that reaped over 27% increase in productivity even before completing the project! In order for the team to be allowed to implement, they demonstrated to Schneider with solid data analysis that implementation would be high benefit and low risk and effort. Through this process, Casey and the team gained tremendous credibility to be allowed to implement their ideas. Moving further, the team developed plans that if implemented would further reap benefits through line balancing, several part presentation ideas that could be implemented through a Moonshine effort, revised line layout, downtime reduction and visual management systems. I have had the opportunity to work alongside many people in over 26 countries over my long career, but I have to state that Casey and this team are one of the most highly motivated and results oriented groups that I have ever been associated with. They achieved greatness without spending a lot of resources. Casey and the team excelled in the achievement of the project objectives in the areas of Operations Management, Project Leadership/Planning, Industrial Engineering/Quality, and Lean Manufacturing/Process Optimization. I view Casey as a natural problem-solver and is a results-oriented, dedicated, pragmatic, and highly dependable. She is flexible, fast-learner adapts easily to new situations and challenges.
