Casey Martin is the Founder and Executive Creative Director of Play, a branding and design studio working with the world’s most innovative companies, communicating their vision for a better future. A passionate believer in the idea that original, impactful work results from processes that do not feel like work, Martin’s leadership has helped shape Play into an uncommonly agile partner that excels at distilling complex ideas into brands that are equally accessible, humanistic and inspiring. Having honed his expertise working at some of the industry’s most lauded design companies – COLLINS, Red Antler, Apple and others – Martin created Play in 2016 with the goal of building a studio driven by honesty, empathy and a love for creative exploration. Since then, Play has worked with a range of deep tech innovators, financial disruptors, health startups and beyond, crafting brands, digital experiences, packaging and more. Martin remains an ardently engaged leader who oversees every design project at the studio, including work with Elon Musk’s neurotech pioneer Neuralink, digital currency Worldcoin, storage standout Dropbox and many others. For his efforts, he has been recognized by D&AD, One Show, Art Directors Club, Cannes Lions and the Type Directors Club. Outside of Play, he can be found with his family, surfing, cooking or living out his previous life as a competitive golfer.
