Working with NDIS participants with a range of disabilities such as autism, schizophrenia, stroke, acquired brain injury, early onset dementia, intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities. Supporting these participants with community access, companionship, cooking and personal care to allow them to participate in the everyday occupations of most importance to them.

8-week placement working with members of the community with neurological conditions such as Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord Injuries, Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington's Disease and Prion Disease.Funding bodies included NDIS, TAC, Workcover or private funding.Assisted in and observed sessions with clients to work on their occupational goals which included; decreasing hoarding behaviours, decreasing behaviours of concern, increasing socialisation, participating in hobbies, accessing the community or home environment, decreasing falls, participating in caretaking of children, creating an accessible home environment etc. Assessments/interventions administered:- Completed a TAC Review of Capacity- Participated in an ABI social group by creating and facilitating an activity- Quality improvement- updated Task Analysis form- Created written support worker guidelines about work with a client's behaviours of concern- Updated upper-limb exercises for ABI rehabilitation

Frankston Hospital

4-week placement working on the acute neuro ward with adult patients presenting with neurological conditions, primarily stroke. Assisted with prioritising patients and following Peninsula Health's Stroke Care Pathway as per the Stroke Foundation Guidelines to assess the patient's functional changes. In addition to this, I assisted with delivering therapy on the ward through education, electrical stimulation functional activities and games, as well as maintaining pressure care for patients and equipment hire.Assessments administered:- Initial assessment (gathering social history, premorbid occupational performance and information about their home environment.- Functional assessments (eating, grooming, showering, toileting etc)

Completed reports for NDIS, Worksafe and TAC clients, with supervision from a Registered Psychologist and Occupational Therapist. Observed Occupational Therapy Assessments, attended counselling sessions and vocational support sessions, including an equipment trial. Worked in a team, both in the office and online, to formulate innovative ways to help individual clients. Researched activities online for specific NDIS participants, in order to increase their fine and gross motor skills, as well as social skills.

Organised and managed multiple children’s parties throughout the day and often several at the same time. Communicated with customers of all ages and abilities, as well as coordinated holiday groups of kids. Completed various admin/reception duties and resolved customer complaints.
