As an associate my responsibilities encompassed project management, mentoring, quality control, business development and assisting with the general operations of the Lenexa office.

My career at Hoss & Brown started as an intern during the summer of 2001, with my primary responsibilities being basic mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems layouts and drafting in AutoCAD. I started my full-time career in the spring of 2002 as a Staff Engineer. In this role, I did more in-depth engineering design and continued to produce construction documents in AutoCAD. I used both lighting and mechanical systems simulation extensively to obtain a quality and cost effective system design, taking into consideration both the initial cost as well as the operating and maintenance costs associated with that system. As my construction administration, specification writing and project management roles increased, I was promoted to a Project Engineer and eventually Project Manager. Throughout my career, I have been involved with projects from their inception at schematic design through the completion of construction, and have a thorough understanding of what it takes through both design and construction to achieve a successful project.

I worked as a draftsman and engineering intern for Orazem and Scalora Engineering in Manhattan, Kansas, while I was finishing up my degree at Kansas State University. During my time there I gained valuable experience using AutoCAD to produce construction documents, and got an introduction to some basic engineering calculations and design concepts.
