Construction Surety Associate Account Executive
Risk Control Associate
Working as part of a collaborative team to develop risk assessments has been a fun and rewarding challenge. I've grown greatly as a professional through my development in risk control and enjoy being a continuous learner. As a valuable counterpart to our underwriters I am able to contribute expertise in health and safety to differentiate our accounts in risk selection. With the growth of our continuous relationships we are able to partner with our customers to reduce and mitigate their risk. My knowledge and understanding of risk control, as well as underwriting has evolved to continue to build my foundation within the insurance industry. It has been an honor to build relationships with our clients to identify uncontrolled hazards and make appropriate recommendations. By conducting thorough loss analysis I can identify loss trends to assist our accounts and provide appropriate services. Through my consultations I am able to provide ways to help them reduce, mitigate, or prevent losses.
Psychiatric Technician
When I think about everything I learned from working with psychiatric and mental health patients, the humility they taught me stands out. Spending time assisting patients with therapeutic activities and activities of daily living was a very fulfilling job. I was constantly humbled by the illnesses afflicted on our patients and enjoyed building relationships with them to help them achieve their goals. I worked as part of a collaborative health care team to provide care to patients as directed by medical and nursing providers. Part of these responsibilities were to provide routine nursing care procedures. By building relationships with our patients I was able to obtain information regarding patients' physical, emotional, and behavioral health. The most rewarding part of the job was being able to see the progress our patients were able to make. Seeing a patient arrive to be admitted in a very unstable state, and then make strides to improve their health and life was incredible. Being a part of changing someone's life for the better is at the core of what motivates and inspires me.

Another big part of my responsibilities was expediating submittals to ensure our materials deliveries were in sync with the project schedule. I spent a lot of time working with our subcontractors to make sure we met project requirements. Becoming a master of our contract drawings and specifications allowed me to effectively manage subcontractors, and complete RFIs and submittals. Having an amazing group of construction professionals to accelerate my growth and education was an amazing asset. I embrace being a quick learner, but the project team was the catalyst to facilitate my understanding of our process.
Safety Engineer

Being able to set the expectation of our zero injury culture while giving craft workers the resources so they could make that a reality was one of the more rewarding aspects of the job. While inspecting job sites for compliance with safety regulations, I made it a point to build relationships with our craft workers, to learn about their job, and build our safety culture.Working with our project team always provided new opportunities to learn more about being a better builder and how to develop strategies to better control risk in the field. Having open communication throughout the project team allowed us to maintain productivity while always prioritizing safety no matter the challenges we faced.
Safety Intern

I also was able to be a part of developing and reviewing our job hazard analyses to make sure each job was done safely.Overall working with Granite was an amazing experience that taught me a great deal about heavy civil engineering. I am fortunate to have my first experience within safety be with a knowledgeable and skilled group of individuals who were always willing to teach me more about the industry.
Bartender
I embraced demonstrating attention to detail by mixing craft cocktails at a busy restaurant and casino. Being customers' go-to bartender because of the quality I brought to their beverages always brought me joy. It meant a lot to me to be able to deliver something exceptional to people as a way to add to their quality of life.Teamwork was a big part of what made our customers happy. Air Transportation
The Air Force instilled so many of their core values into who I am today. I was able to make great accomplishments as an honor graduate in basic training as well as air transportation tech school. During tech school I was awarded the duty of air transportation leader, which built leadership over a large group of fellow tech school trainees. While at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany we coordinated tasks to provide logistical support for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as humanitarian efforts across the world. We ensured our mission was accomplished by using software and analytical skills to manage records for accurate, safe movement of air cargo. It took a solid team effort to plan, schedule, and process air cargo to guarantee all scopes of our mission were accomplished.
