I am an intern counselor at PCA providing counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults.

Complete in depth assessments of individuals seeking to become foster parents by gathering information regarding the family and their history in order to submit a recommendation to the Office of Licensing and RegulationManage an ongoing caseload of 15 to 20 foster families including monthly visits to the home to verify compliance with DCS requirements for the foster home setting and meeting with each child to ensure their care and safety. Provide ongoing support to the family by educating them on the effects of trauma, assisting in coming up with behavior management strategies, and helping set up services for the child.

Managed a caseload of 3 to 4 families referred by the Department of Child Safety and assisted them in achieving goals set by their case manager to work towards family reunification.Provided parent skills sessions weekly per family utilizing The Nurturing Parenting curriculum and a strengths-based approach to help parents enhance caregiver protective capacities.Supervised visits between birth parents and their children ensuring child safety and providing feedback to parents during parenting time.Documented parent progress and report to DCS case manager within set deadlines.
