As a graduate of John Carroll University, I hold a BA in English and Spanish. I bolstered my education by including a minor in Peace, Justice & Human Rights.I am currently working in the education field as an 8th grade ELA teacher with a passion for equitable education. Working with the organization Teach For America and school YES Prep Northbrook Middle School, I have worked to invest students in their learning and growth through rigorous texts, collaborative discussions, differentiated learning, and instilling a growth mindset in my classroom. During my four years of college education, I tutored and taught English in numerous formats. I have a particular interest in teaching ESL to Spanish-speaking students because of my Spanish proficiency. I have also developed my education experiences by becoming a course facilitator for the YES Prep English Team and facilitation professional development to teachers across the district. My success as an educator can be seen by impressive student growth and competitive student data.
