I graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, complemented by a minor in Biomedical Engineering, from Virginia Tech. I am currently pursuing an M.S. in Bioengineering at Clemson. My academic journey is driven by a long-term aspiration to attain an advanced degree with a specialization in Biomechanical Engineering. This aligns with my career goal of contributing to the fields of exoskeletons, prosthetics, and rehabilitation. In the short term, I am seeking to find an internship for the Summer of 2024 to help me pursue my career goals in addition to furthering my thesis research. While my current thesis topic remains undecided, my immediate focus is on quantifying metrics associated with gait stability during locomotor task transitions for stroke patients, for example, activities stair-to-ground transitions. To do this I will be utilizing motion capture systems and Electromyography sensors.Growing up as a military dependent and athlete, prosthetics became a familiar presence in my life, whether during physical therapy sessions or on the military bases where I lived. I pursued a Mechanical Engineering major during my undergraduate studies to establish a solid foundation in engineering. In my junior year, I further honed my focus by adding a minor in Biomedical Engineering and joining the Quality of Life Plus (QL+) club. My passion for QL+ stems from its mission to design and construct prosthetics and medical devices to enhance the lives of veterans and others in our community.My long-term goal is to contribute to advancements in assistive technologies that empower individuals with physical limitations. I envision collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design innovative solutions that not only restore mobility but also improve overall well-being. Pursuing a master's degree is a pivotal step in this journey, allowing me to explore and define the specific contributions I aspire to make in the field while remaining open to the exciting discoveries that lie ahead.
