I have finally entered the world of being a "true adult" where I no longer attend school. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse this last May and began just a few short weeks later my first full-time job with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. I also began my role as manager of the La Crosse Area Youth Symphony and remained at my position of a violin teacher at Reed Music Studio. I am now officially 6 months into this new era of my life and have learned a couple of lessons to take with me.1. Making sure to have a work/life balance is not for the feint of heart, like other things in life it doesn't come automatically, you must strive for it.2. Taking 5 minutes at the end of the day, no matter how tired you are, to clean around your spaces will allow yourself for a smoother morning.3. Get the cat you've been thinking about, especially if you live alone, it makes life just that more interestingThese three things have changed my life. I went from being an 18 credit a semester student with 5 jobs to a full-time and two part time jobs that I absolutely love and get to brag about to family members. I see my friends and family more frequently, I love going home because I get to see the smallest and furriest member that has taken my family's hearts. My piece of mind has never been more peaceful and solid. But, I apparently cannot sit still for long. Beginning of Fall of 2024, I will be working towards my masters in Arts Management from Oklahoma University (online) to continue in the jobs I love but also furthering my education in a field that means the world to me. The lessons I have learned currently will take me far on the different paths that I want to take and I cannot wait to see where they lead.

Project ManagerLa Crosse Symphony Orchestra Feb 2020 - May 2021La Crosse, Wisconsin, United StatesFor this internship, it was the goal to be able to create, maintain, and cultivate the annual Symphony for Youth event. This event focuses on inspiring 3rd through 5th graders to begin their journey in music, showing them what is possible with a little dedication and hard work. With my time here, I also took it upon myself to grow our following base through our social media platforms. I created and managed the YouTube series, Meet the Musician, to gain connectivity from our musicians to our community. On Facebook I continued the already going series, Trivia Thursday, focusing on bringing social justice elements to our feed to highlight important events going on in our world and our Wisconsin base. For our Instagram, I revamped our look, using a simple color palette that would attract the eye and give our page an air of simplicity and class. I thought through different series' such as Modern Composer Monday, Question of the Week, This Day in History, and highlighting important holidays. With the leftover time that I was able to give them, I assisted in the office in whatever way I could. I helped our office by running the communication aspect of our String Scholarship Program, emailing the applicants, contacting them with any questions, answering any of theirs, and communicating with them if they won. To maintain professionalism, I readjusted our forms from the previous year and adapted them to better fit our use and have everything that they might need in one place.Another way I assisted our office was becoming the Head Usher for two concerts while my supervisor was in quarantine. Using my leadership skills, I directed our ushers to the places that would best fit our customers in finding their seats, handing out bulletins, and more. Making sure that the concerts ran smoothly while managing volunteers was a privilege and a fantastic experience. -
