Currently serve as Mastercard's first privacy counsel dedicated to assisting infrastructure teams with addressing concerns related to Schrems II, data localization, artificial intelligence, SaaS and Cloud along with global privacy initiatives. Proud member of Mastercard's business resources group, ADAPTability, which works to support individual team members along with identifying systemic changes which enable all employees to fulfill their potential. Former member of the global legal team of a cutting-edge SaaS provider and served as lead negotiator for DPAs and data protection and liability terms generally. Proud to be one of the first Privacy Law Specialists* in the U.S.! *Disclaimer: The International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) is accredited by the American Bar Association to certify lawyers as Privacy Law Specialists (PLS). The IAPP is not affiliated with any governmental authority. Did earning sufficient credentials to qualify for a PLS certification require additional training and years of hard work? Yes. However, a PLS certification is not required to practice law in either state where I am admitted (New Jersey and New York). Further, having a PLS does not indicate that I am more competent than similarly experienced attorneys in this field.

  • Ricky'S Nyc
    Halloween Costume And Makeup Guru
    Ricky'S Nyc Oct 2008 - Nov 2008
Having spent 2 years as an attorney, 2 years as a law clerk to one of the busiest consumer bankruptcy judges in the Southern District of New York, and after watching 2 killer job offers fade away in light of Lehman, I decided to have fun. On a lark, in my "coolest" outfit (black suit, I am a lawyer after all), I brought my current resume with me to the Ricky's temporary staffing open house. I sat in the office of the Head of Human Resources and explained that I liked makeup (exhibit A, lipstick matched my shirt) and worked really hard (exhibit B, resume). I spent the next 8 weeks selling glitter to really tall men who wanted to be Tinkerbell for Halloween, going to work dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, explaining "joke" costumes to elderly couples, and helping chemo patients pick out perfect pink wigs. Oh, and spending more money on shampoo than I actually earned working there ... It was an amazing experience.
  • United States Bankruptcy Court - Southern District Of New York
Law Clerk To Honorable Cecelia Morris
United States Bankruptcy Court - Southern District Of New York Oct 2006 - Sep 2008
In the fall of 2006, I thought I knew very little about bankruptcy and a lot about people. I soon learned that I had it reversed. For two years, I assisted Judge Morris decipher complicated factual and legal issues that mattered not becuase of the amount of money involved, but the impact those decisons would have on the individuals seeking relief from the Court. Judge Morris regularly heard from families facing foreclosure, small businesses struggling to pay debts, and employees faced with pay cuts versus job loss. I learned that 99.99% of the individuals that filed for relief did so because they had to - not because they wanted to. (I never met the illustrious debtor who went to Paris with a platinum card and filed bankruptcy the next day.) I also learned that being an advocate is often easier than being a decision-maker. In the process, I became a better writer, a better lawyer, and most importantly, a better person.
  • Kaye Scholer Llp
    Assistant Managing Attorney
Kaye Scholer Llp Aug 2004 - Oct 2006
With the ink still wet on my diploma, I joined the incredible staff of Kaye Scholer's Managing Attorney's Office. For two years, I learned how to think on my feet, read rule books on the fly, negotiate, and how to be assertive and still polite. I also picked up a few pointers on civil procedure.
  • Kaye Scholer Llp
    Reference Librarian
Kaye Scholer Llp Sep 1999 - Jun 2004
Fresh out of library school and in the middle of applying for law school, I somehow managed to land a position with one of the best law librarians in New York: Shabeer Khan. For the next five years, I worked as a reference librarian and developed specialties in intellectual property and industry research. I also developed new training programs for first-year associates and paralegals. The Lexis and Westlaw reps were my best friends. The world of electronic resources was starting to explode ... it was incredible to be a part of it all.
  • Winthrop Stimpson
    Assistant Reference Librarian
    Winthrop Stimpson Aug 1998 - Sep 1999
  • Nordeman Grimm
    Research Assistant
    Nordeman Grimm Aug 1997 - Jul 1998
With little more than admission to library school and a good attitude, one of the top financial services recruiting firms hired me to work in their research department. For a year, I learned about the inner working of big business and the financial sector.
  • American Arbitration Association
    Case Administrator
American Arbitration Association Apr 1996 - Jul 1997
    New York, Ny, Us
Right out of college, I joined the ranks of the illustrious AAA. I quickly learned how to manage cases, negotiate with parties, and create efficient systems. My biggest project was managing the Macy's Reorg ADR procedure ... ironic given my eventual choice of profession.
