Check the box. I excel at creating and monitoring checklists, and of course, completing each item on the lists. That’s what makes me a natural planner and I love using these talents to plan and coordinate events for companies. Planning events comes instinctively to me. My first large, public event planned was a 50+ unit homecoming parade in high school. I was hooked and ready for more. At the age of 16, I became a USA Cup Soccer Tournament Steering Committee member in charge of Radio Operations. When I matriculated to college, I was on multiple Homecoming committees and a resident assistant in the dorms. My early career also centered on event management as the first Event Coordinator at the National Sports Center and then working in Sales/Catering for a large hotel chain. But I am more than an event planner. I am also a communication strategist. My career path changed slightly when I accepted a position to educate participants about their retirement plans. I immersed myself in the world of communications and education where I explored writing, editing, creative concepts, digital communications, budgeting, and more. I created, implemented, and delivered communication strategies for various employers including numerous Fortune 500 companies. And wouldn’t you know it, I planned events. Whether it was coordinating complex communications campaigns or arranging meetings and fairs, my skills in planning were invaluable. And just because I love it so much, I indulge my passion for travel and Disney as a Travel Planner. It sparks joy in me to help families plan the vacation of their dreams. My strengths include developing communication strategies, writing and editing, needs analysis, and logistic coordination. My friends and peers have described me as a strong team collaborator, forward thinking, and someone who excel at project prioritization. I am independently motivated and have work with alternative remote and hybrid arrangements since 2002 (almost 20 years before the pandemic). I am honored to have received multiple industry awards for excellence including PLANSPONSOR Star Team Award, Pension & Investments Eddy Award, and PSCA Signature Awards. Over the years, and through my different roles, I have been able to use both my creative and organizational sides. That is what I am ready to do to now. How can I help you with your communication and event planning needs?
