Over the course of this internship, I had the opportunity to see the role a Mechanical Engineer plays in product development. During my summer at Sunrise, I had a focus on designing, building, testing, and analyzing prototypes for medical devices utilizing 3D printers, a laser cutter, and basic machinery. My responsibilities included designing models using CAD and Product Data Management software, documenting custom parts and assemblies by creating drawings and Bills of Materials, and coordinating with clients, manufacturers, and vendors as projects required.
