- This second and last Thrive Summer Academy was held on the University of Chicago campus. This summer involved seminars and workshops focused on success in college. - As a whole, we engaged in different group bonding activities such as game nights and silent discos. - Through the experience, I became accustomed to dorm life and explored Chicago, visiting various staples like Navy Pier and the Museum of Science and Industry.- Throughout the summer, we had math and English professors with the freedom to teach a given subject in a unique and personal style. - For example, I learned Green’s Theorem in Multivariable Calculus and how to write a 10-page academic paper in STEM Writing. - Both professors took advantage of numerous discussions and thinking/research exercises. While not official courses, learning these complex subjects through interactive styles made them more admirable.

- Analyze a previously used markup programming language to input problems into a new online assessment platform.- Create new and modify existing algebra and quantitative reasoning problems to be used by ~250 students each semester.

- Welcomed clients and attended to their needs to facilitate residential satisfaction.- Kept the Pines City Center clubhouse tidy and well-presentable.

- I participated in three virtual college fairs and 16 college access workshops where some of the topics covered were college research, networking, and financial aid.- Another workshop addressed the Imposter Syndrome, which was insightful in helping me realize that I am just as capable as everyone around me. - Additionally, as part of the summer program, I took 90 hours of an introductory calculus class. While not a graded course, the knowledge I learned prepared me to excel in the official Calculus 1 course I eventually took.
