As founder and executive director, Trimnell is responsible for the organizational growth, educational programming and patient prioritized research presented by Silicon Valley-based nonprofit organization Sickle Cell 101 (SC101). Trimnell also works as a patient advocacy consultant for companies and other key stakeholders with pipeline products or programs for sickle cell disease.SC101’s global and world-renowned platforms have become a reliable source of information trusted by patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders. To-date SC101 has the largest and highest digital engagement rates within the global sickle cell community with over 50,000 followers on social media consistent of primarily individuals living with sickle cell disease and additionally their families/caregivers, healthcare professionals and others. Trimnell has also currently serves as a patient consultant and sickle cell community advisor on projects for programming, material and communications, research and clinical trials, and more. Trimnell consults for a variety of entities including government agencies, hospitals/research institutes, pharmaceutical/biotech companies and others.Trimnell received her Sickle Cell Educator certificate, issued by the Department of Public Health and her Hemoglobinopathy Training certificate from Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Trimnell received a B.A. in Global Studies: Social, Political, and Economic Development from Sonoma State University. Trimnell's passion for sickle cell education and advocacy stems directly from her living with SCD, hemoglobin SS.
