As a native El Pasoan who thrives working collaboratively toward goals providing benefit and quality of life for the local community, Jessica has established herself as an innovative and creative community engagement professional effective in collaborative constituent development, intentional volunteer management, and execution of diverse projects. Throughout her experience, she has developed a sharp aptitude for building and maintaining strong community and stakeholder partnerships in both higher education and civil service arenas. Jessica is currently the first Intern and Volunteer Coordinator for The City of El Paso where she has been charged with strategic program development, outreach and recruitment, creation and implementation of various program policy, and advocating for student interns and community volunteers. She previously held roles at The University of Texas at El Paso - America's leading Hispanic - serving university located on one of the largest bilingual, binational borders in the world. While at UTEP, Jessica supported and developed initiatives for students, staff, and alumni to include a wide range of engagement and fundraising projects while also serving as a UTEP Edge Fellow and a Staff Council member.Jessica's career focus has been fundamentally rooted in amplifying and serving the exceptional perspectives of her community allowing her to engage with other creatives, change - makers, and enthusiastic professionals.She holds a B.A. in Creative Writing with a minor in Film Studies, an M.A. in Rhetoric and Writing Studies, and a Technical and Professional Writing Certificate from The University of Texas at El Paso. She is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Women and Gender Studies also from UTEP.
