Running own business as a designer maker, and a sideline business in providing design and web development to other small businesses, especially other designer makers looking for branding and ecommerce solutions. Sold on the print element of the business to another print seller so that I can concentrate on my new role.

Working within the Central Communications and IT teams, responsible for managing the development and roll out of multiple web based systems. Also responsible for the integration of new systems into the existing network working within the IT road-map, and working with the business on strategic planning for the future.Communicating daily by phone and email with suppliers and customers across all departments to ensure new projects are delivered on time and to answer queries or chase up actions. Also managing ongoing change to existing systems and urgent system issues or failures, communicating these issues from the customer to IT support to ensure the issue is resolved.Running weekly project update meetings for customers, by video conference, teleconference or face to face, and weekly updates for suppliers and developers, managing expectations throughout. Management of the Web Project Manager and contracted developers when employed. Working to ‘Prince II’ project management methodologies. Holding the delegated web budget and setting the budget on a year on year basis, also producing business cases for board approval.

Working as the central point for the development and delivery of a new intranet for the whole of NHS Direct within a team of developers. Full project management cycle. On project close a very successful and speedy delivery that improved staff efficiency, collaboration and communication through the business. Also worked on the NHS Direct Online website re-branding and other smaller projects.

Working within the IT team as the developer and project manager of multiple online systems including the intranet, stock control system, corporate website, technician’s hot-ticket system, helpdesk system, air ambulance website and auction site, and the hardware and databases associated with these developments. Managing an additional Web Developer and Analyst.

Working within a team of editors and designers on the initial rollout of the icNetwork and ongoing development of the brand and service. Designing adverts for the icNetwork and Fish4 sites and uploading these to the ad-server then communicating back to customers the success of their campaigns and winning repeat business. Also developing and designing full websites for customers, including visiting the customer with the sales team to collect requirements and ongoing customer hand holding throughout the process.Ensuring the icNetwork site branding and adverts are consistent across the network and creating graphics requested by editors to support key stories and sections of the site.Working with Fish4 to develop new services through the icNetwork such as icNewHomes. Also some editorial responsibilities such as writing reviews and content, supporting the editors when breaking news stops press. Developing and designing the icNetwork branding for use across online and offline media.
