As a Genetics and Physics major in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M, I am an insatiably curious and determined member of the class of 2026 aiming to apply my diligent work ethic, interpersonal skills, and creative ideas to internship projects and research. I am passionate about developing new solutions to problems, learning new things, and furthering those around me as a team to work toward common goals.At Texas A&M University, I am involved in the Casola Lab, where I utilize bioinformatic approaches to streamline the process of identifying de novo genes and their functions across multiple different plant genomes. This work has given me a strong understanding of the problem solving approaches utilized in a dry lab, strengthened my programming skills, and allowed me to apply my technical skills to the lab setting. I also build wet lab skills in class labs, such as organic chemistry. Some organizations I am passionate about and involved with are BUILD, a non-profit organization that serves to expand medical access around the globe, Biochemistry and Genetics Society, the university bands as a flute player, and Freshmen Leadership Organization Freshmen in Engineering, Science, and Technology (FEST) as a peer mentor.Outside of school, I am always trying new activities and looking for ways to push myself and my skill set. Some activities I enjoy include amateur astronomy, stained glass making, and creative writing.
