A passionate environmentalist and outdoor educator interested in exploring the integration of sustainable agriculture, community engagement, and food recovery while advocating for inclusivity within outdoor spaces. I am a firm believer that connecting to our natural environment through outdoor experience is a significant driver for environmental protection, and outdoor spaces should be accessible to all communities. I am proficient in Spanish and English, and I am driven to prioritize bringing communities together to create change. After directing a research project on climate-resilient agriculture and food security in Costa Rica while studying at the School for Field Studies for a semester, I continue to be inspired by the sustainable practices and adaptations of Costa Rica's local farmers through regenerative agriculture, forest cover preservation, and the implementation of a circular economy. As a ski & waterski/wakeboard instructor for 4+ years and 'Female Leader of the Year' nominee (National Collegiate Water Ski Association), outdoor education continues to play a huge role in my life as I have witnessed first-hand how much outdoor activity can improve wellbeing, encourage environmental activism, and change lives. Volunteer coordination, fundraising initiatives, environmental education, community engagement, and climate change mitigation tracking are some of the skills I wish to bring into the climate space. Skills include scientific report writing (including project management for EIR report), ArcGIS, R, Microsoft Word/Excel, field work, public speaking, and team management.
