Starting as an architectural drafts person is an exciting journey, where attention to detail and the ability to transform creative concepts into precise, technical drawings form the foundation of my work to date.I have completed a domestic-scale renovation to an existing family home and am currently working on another domestic project.

Working at a summer camp for kids was a heartwarming and rewarding experience. I had the privilege of creating a nurturing and memorable environment for children, fostering their personal growth, building lasting friendships, and helping them explore the joys of outdoor adventures and teamwork. Here are the various roles and responsibilities I undertook:Counselor: As a counselor, I was responsible for a group of varsity campers (ages 14-15), ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in camp activities. This involved connecting with each child, addressing their needs, and mediating conflicts.Activity Leader: I led and helped at various camp activities, such as arts and crafts, sports, nature hikes, and team-building exercises. Creating a fun and educational environment was vital to keeping the campers entertained and learning.Safety and First Aid: Camp safety was a top priority. I received training in first aid and was prepared to handle minor injuries and emergencies. Being vigilant and proactive in preventing accidents was crucial.Role Model and Mentor: Campers looked up to the counselors, so I saw myself as a role model. I strived to set a positive example in behavior, sportsmanship, and cooperation, teaching valuable life skills.Camp Outings: Occasionally, there were off-site trips to places like Boston, Cape Cod, and Williamsburg and other adventures. I was responsible for ensuring campers' safety and enjoyment during these excursions.

Working as a Junior Landscape Designer was an enriching and transformative experience that immersed me in landscape architecture. I took on numbers roles, including Site Analysis: This involved visiting sites and considering factors like topography, soil quality, drainage, and microclimates that would influence the design.AutoCAD, SketchUp, and TwinMotion: I was responsible for creating detailed design drawings, including site plans, plant layout plans, and elevation drawings. I learned to translate conceptual ideas into technical drawings to share with clients through real-life renders.Plant Selection: Selecting appropriate plants for a landscape project was a fascinating aspect of my role. Learning plants' needs provided insight into the intricate relationships between light, water, nutrients, and environmental conditions, which was crucial for their growth and visual appeal.Construction: I had the opportunity to participate in the projects and the design's construction process. This hands-on experience helped me understand the practical aspects of landscape construction.In the summer of 2022, I was responsible for the Garden Centre and led a team of younger students to manage the garden centre. This was a demanding yet enjoyable role. I took on the following duties,.Ordering different varieties of plants,.Offering information to customers on the various plants,.Leading a team to provide the best customer experience,.Maintaining the upkeep of plants and the garden center grounds, Curating the Garden Center's look, and ensuring a fresh feel to the centre at all times.In May 2022 and 2023, Ballyseedy designed and landscaped 12 show gardens for the Munster Garden Show. For the days that the show took place, I was a representative for Ballyseedy. Here, I had to explain the different themes of the gardens and the variety of plants to the public, which saw over 100,000 people visit the Garden Show throughout the three-day event each year.
